James Allen''s World Class Canine
My German
shepherd dog Amos just turned four years old. For the past two years Amos has
been working my properties as a guard dog. Although I am an amateur dog trainer
Amos has excellent blood lines and had become better than any of my previous
dogs. My family situation changed with the arrival of a grandchild three years
ago and another due soon. This presented an issue with Amos as he would not let
anyone except my son and me into the houses. I knew enough about dog training
to realize that my son and I needed help to elevate Amos to the next level of a
trusted personal protection dog for our family.
This need inspired a very in depth search as I was very nervous that Amos could be easily ruined. The cost or location of a trainer was not an issue for me as I have seen top protection dogs selling for as much as $35,000; I had spent four years developing this dog and wanted the best. My search turned up all kinds of individuals mainly back yard idiots and sports dog trainers, neither would meet my needs. The last thing I wanted was a dog that would only bite a training sleeve or worse. Then I came across World Class Canine and was surprised to find they were in the Kalamazoo, MI area.
So I called James, he seemed quite hesitant, informing me that most dogs are not suitable for protection work at the level I was after and that he would have to evaluate the dog first. This was a good sign, the guy obviously knew dogs and wasn’t just after some training dollars. My son took Amos in for James to evaluate, meanwhile Robert was evaluating James, and both were impressed. So I chose the board and train option and set an appointment to leave Amos with James for training.
When we returned, James took the time to fully understand our needs and wants while completely answering our questions. It did not take long to realize James was the professional we were looking for in a trainer. I should remind the reader that Amos is a very hot guard dog that wants to fight the world, including James. I really did not think anyone would be able to work the dog other than Robert or myself. Acclimating Amos to James took awhile but was successful which also impressed me. After several updates via telephone and nearly three weeks later we picked up Amos.
James
provided us with a video of Amos working, reviewed the verbal commands and
corresponding hand signals and demonstrated with Amos. Again, I was impressed.
I had only taught Amos sit, lie down and come as he was only intended to be a
guard dog. James had not only taught the necessary commands for a hot level 2 personal
protection dog, Amos was now heeling off lead and obeying commands like show
dogs you would see in AKC obedience trials! We even got two pictures of our Amos in K9 Cop Magazine!!!!!

We have a two year old male Rott, Kane who was stubborn and aggressive. We had many issues that needed to be corrected i.e. being aggressive with small children and our parrot, while riding in the car he would "chase" other cars from the front to the back window, any time someone would walk past the car he would bark fiercely and claw at the windows, when new people would come to our home, if he didn't like them he would bark and lunge, if he did like them he would jump and bite, when we came home he would jump on us and bite our elbows, he hated cats so much he killed one of ours. We also have two other dogs. The oldest is a Golden Retriever and Kane would bite and pounce on him when he wanted to play, the other is a mix breed, German Shepherd and Beagle, Kane would rather kill this dog then tolerate him, he attacked him at least a dozen times which required visits to the vet. We were referred to James thru another trainer. I talked with him on the phone a few times and felt comfortable because of his extensive knowledge of several different types of canine training. He didn't seem apprehensive about Kane's aggressiveness at all. After spending 2 weeks with James, Kane now behaves very well. James taught us how to work with him before we brought him home. He made sure we knew what we were doing with the e-collar and commands. All the issues I mentioned previously have been corrected!! He know listens and has full obedience. I was so very impressed with James' ability to turn Kane into a good dog. We work with Kane every day thru commands and an e-collar. If I had another dog that needed training I would not hesitate in taking him to James!
I have worked with James Allen for many years and have seen first hand
the extensive knowledge he has for K-9 training. James can develop any
K-9 into an excellent product on the streets or for home protection.

My name is Megann Santana. Marcus, my husband, is in the military; and I am often alone with two very big dogs (Zoe, Pitt-bull mix and Ninja, doberman pincher). After a very bad camping experience complete with biting we knew we had to find help for Ninja. We realized how badly we were doing with training her. Ninja is a 75 pound, 18 month old Doberman Pincher. Ninja was raised around females. I got Ninja while my husband was in boot camp to keep our other dog, Zoe, company while I was working. I made the mistake of assuming Ninja would just adopt Zoe's good behavior. Ninja was socialized with family and family dogs until we were stationed in Tennessee. However, once we moved far away, Ninja was not around many people or dogs. She was still a puppy about 6 months old. From 6 months till a couple of months ago Ninja's only interaction was Marcus and myself. She slowly became fearful of everything from males to other dogs. Ninja would bark at everyone and everything (birds, squirrels, strangers and friends) aggressively; even the people she would see one minute and was fine with and then they would leave or move too fast and it would start again. Ninja would bite friends on the butt, attack windows with ANYTHING in front of it.
PS- Ceaser aka “the dog whisperer” doesn’t have anything on this guy!

Advanced Obedience with Deacon and Mac.....
While going through a family move from Illinois to Michigan, we were looking into options for where to keep our dogs for the two weeks we would be separated and in storage. We hated the idea of kenneling them because they are never kenneled at home and they both daunt quite sensitive personalities; Deacon is a "Mama's boy" who needs lots of attention and Mac wears his feelings out on his tail. While looking into different kenneling facilities, we started finding "Board and Train" services. We had an immediate interest because while the dogs were generally well-behaved, they had had no formal training and with a one year old baby at home, setting time aside to start was difficult. We found out these services were quite expensive (all the way up to $2500) and it seemed like each place we looked into spoke more of the credentials of the business rather than that of the individual who would be caring for our beloved animals. In an internet search I came across James Allen's website and was immediately impressed with his extensive experience and obvious love of dogs. After a long phone conversation, I knew he was the right choice for us.
Leaving the dogs was difficult but James offered a confident reassurance and I knew we left them in the right hands. When we received a video of Deacon doing a "down" and "stay" we were absolutely floored. Deacon is so energetic and wiggly...we could never get him to sit still. I felt tears in my eyes as I watched him stay while James walked away--total amazement. I suppose it seems silly to be so emotional over our dogs, but the main goal is for them to have a happier life--where they understand and follow the rules. Seeing the progress they were making was so great.
Since we've been home with the dogs, we have noticed vast improvement. Deacon, who used to dart out the door every chance he got, now either stays in or follows us into the drive-way and back into the house. Mac is wearing a collar for the first time since he was a pup which is an amazing feat. Somewhere along the line he developed a major phobia and would hide from his collar...and once it was on, he would drag his head along the ground. We very seriously feared for his safety and had tried everything our vet had told us to get him comfortable with the collar. He now has no issues and always has one on. The dogs listen so much better and when we work with them, their attentiveness is staggering. We are able to literally put a steak on the floor and put them in a down-stay command and they don't move an inch until we say "okay". I can also use this command when they are barking at someone through the window which when there's a sleeping baby in the house, is a God-send!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for improving our quality of life with our pets!

Level 2 Protection Training with German Shepherd Cooper...........
I wanted to write a word of thanks for training Cooper our German Shepherd. Before deciding on your Protection Training program, I talked to dozens of trainers throughout the Midwest and spent several days researching protection training when I came across your website. I was most impressed with your resume & experience, your willingness to give the highest level of care during training, and you took more time than any others to speak to us to find out what our exact needs were. Having a K9 Officer in our family, we also understood how imperative it was to find someone with the proper experience. For those reasons we decided on using World Class Canine which was a 3 hour drive from our home. After picking him up, we could indeed say that actions speak louder than words. During our trip home we were already able to experience his attentiveness and readiness to protect. Once at a gas station and once at a rest stop. Cooper knows all the obedience commands and is now a “World Class” protection dog just as your name states. He is always ready to protect our family and for that were are grateful. We will be using World Class Canine for many years to come and will gladly recommend you to anyone else. Please feel free to use us as a reference anytime.
Sincerely,
The Gasaway Family
